Provider Compliance History
As part of the process of choosing a provider, parents should review the history of any child care provider they are considering for their child. A review of the regulatory history will show any serious or uncorrected violations within the past two years. This will help you know if the child care provider is in good standing with the NYS Office of Children & Family Services. Parents should ask the provider and the regulatory office about the violation so you can understand if it was serious or not. When you know the details and ask questions you can make an informed decision if the provider is the best fit for your family. Only you can decide if the quality of care is right for your child. Parents can also help ensure programs are adequately monitored for compliance by becoming involved in public policy issues.
