Intensive Technical Assistance Program (ITA)

The purpose of Intensive Technical Assistance (ITA) is to support the learning of concepts and standards associated with high quality care. Based on the QUALITYstarsNY standards, ITA will promote excellence in early learning. ITA is designed to address program practices including; Learning Environment, Family Engagement, Provider Qualifications and Experience, Leadership and Management and to assist providers in putting training concepts into practice.  

Working Together SLCCC Staff & Providers:

  • complete a written agreement defining the roles and expectations of SLCCC and the provider
  • develop program specific goals and objectives
  • complete a program assessment based upon the providers chosen area of focus
  • develop a plan of action to meet identified goals
  • identify needed program resources
  • evaluate the ITA program effectiveness  


Intensive Technical Assistance is available to:

  • Family and Group Family Child Care providers and employees
  • Child Care Center directors and employees
  • School-Age Child Care program directors and employees
  • Legally Exempt caregivers
