Employee Benefits Programs
Many parents may be able to receive additional help with child care costs as employee benefits. Ask your employer to find out if any of the following benefits are available to you:
Dependent Care Spending Accounts offer employees the option to have money set aside from their gross salary in a nontaxable spending account which can be used to pay for child care. Neither the employer nor the employee pays taxes on the amount of salary set aside for child care so the employee is able to pay for child care expenses with tax free dollars.
Child Care Vouchers or Reimbursements: Some employers may offer workers child care vouchers that can be used toward child care costs at a child care program of their choice.
